Rebecca (Becky) Macko, Director for the Human Resources Directorate
Becky Macko is the Director for Human Resources at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). In this capacity, she provides strategic HR counsel and leadership to the Lab and develops programs that attract and retain JPL’s highly skilled and diverse workforce of more than 6,500 employees. Becky leads the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP), Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Occupational Health, Compensation, University Recruitment and Relations, and JPL’s international Office Teams. Becky previously served as the Deputy Director of Human Resources.
Becky brings over 25 years of experience leading various HR teams and functions. Prior to joining JPL as the Head of Talent Management, she had a highly successful career at the Walt Disney Company where she held a variety of leadership roles within the Theme Park and Resorts, Studio, Global Media Distribution, and Disney+ teams. Becky’s focus was on building new business initiatives, developing HR strategies, and leading HR teams focused on employee experience, career development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. She worked on the launch of Disney+, the integration of the Marvel Lucasfilm, and the 21st Century Fox acquisitions by Disney.
Her background also includes several years of experience within Medical Device and Pharmaceutical businesses, experience with start-ups as well as mergers and acquisitions. Becky began her career in Food and Beverage Operations and Management.
Throughout her career and varied experiences, Becky has focused on developing talent, using data to inform decision making, developing strong relationships and partnerships, focusing on the evolution of and leading change management efforts within organizations, and building diverse teams to help the organization meet their goals and vision.
Becky holds an MBA, with an emphasis in Human Resources Management, and a Bachelors in Human Resources from Baker College, where she was recognized Summa Cum Laude, President’s List, and Dean’s List for her undergraduate program.
