The light corner of the image from NASA's EarthKAM is Lake Torrens, an ephemeral salt lake in South Australia. The twisted strata visible here is part of a rocky desert area in the Australian Outback.

The light corner of the image is Lake Torrens, an ephemeral salt lake in South Australia. The twisted strata visible here is part of a rocky desert area in the Australian Outback. The black line that runs along one side of the image is a railroad that borders the mountains of the Flinders Ranges.

This image was taken from the Space Shuttle on February 15, 2000.
