JTRF2020 Solution

Earth Orientation Parameter Residuals

About JTRF2020 EOP Residuals

Besides station positions, the space-geodetic observing techniques of VLBI, GNSS, SLR, and DORIS also observe the Earth’s orientation in space. Since the observing techniques are observing the same EOPs, the EOPs can be used to help tie together the networks of the stations of the different observing techniques. For JTRF2020, the EOP components used for this purpose were:
  • VLBI: polar motion, polar motion rate, UT1, and LOD
  • GNSS: polar motion and polar motion rate
  • DORIS: polar motion
  • SLR: polar motion
The tables below give the difference between the EOP component observed by each technique and the JTRF2020 combined EOP series in the sense (observed-JTRF2020). The tables below only show EOP data from every 10th record. To view the FULL EOP data, use the download all buttons below or use one of the commands in the Download All EOP Residuals Commands section below. To view EOP plots, use the plot all buttons below or use one of the commands in the Download All EOP Residuals Commands section below.

Residual Plots Legend

The plots of the EOP residuals include the value of the interquartile range (IQR) of the data being plotted. The IQR is the difference between the 75th and 25th percentiles of the data and is a measure of its scatter.
